Industry, exhaust fumes, wood-burning fires, all of this - often invisibly - pollutes the air we breathe. If you travel from the countryside in the direction of a big city on a windless day, you can often notice a grey pall of haze hanging over the city. In this case, the pollution of the air is even visible!
